A teaser trailer depicting a young Viktor Nikiforov performing at the Winter Olympic Games was released in Japan on January 17, 2019, as a part of a Yuri on Ice marathon event. The movie was originally scheduled to be released in 2019, but it has been delayed to another, currently unknown release date. In Between, one movie titled 'Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence' was announced on July 1, 2018, at the Yuri!!! on Concert event. It had over a million tweets more than its closest rival, the volleyball-based anime Haikyu!! (which had 348,109 tweets).
